An Alnwick salon is holding a special charity day to raise funds for chidren with cancer.

Bex Hair and Beauty, run by 19-year-old Becca Allan, on Bailiffgate, is hosting the event on Monday, June 2, from 9am to 9pm.

Becca is hoping to raise as much as possible from the day, her second charity event, with proceeds going to the children’s cancer unit at Newcastle’s RVI.

Hair treatments, using Milkshake products, will be on offer at £15 each with a blowdry included and £5 from each treatment will go towards the charity.

And Barclays Bank has agreed to match-fund the amount raised up to a maximum of £1,000.

Becca said: “Raising money for such a good cause gives me a chance to give something back as I’m able to do it doing something I am so passionate about, hairdressing, so I count myself very lucky – and it’s a fabulous opportunity to get everyone together and have a great day.”

Alongside a raffle, to win a hamper of Milkshake products worth £90, a lucky dip is also being held with all the proceeds going to the charity.

To book your treatment slot, contact the salon on 01665 603673.

Anyone can drop into the event throughout the day and food and drink will be on offer.
