Teacher Sally Douglas is taking the plunge to raise funds for HospiceCare North Northumberland. Sally, 36, who teaches at Hipsburn First School, Lesbury, is doing a sponsored skydive after losing a friend to cancer last year.

It will take place in Portugal over the Easter holidays.

Headteacher Dot Charlton said: “We are all delighted to support Sally because we value the work of the hospice. It also gives the children an opportunity to see their teacher taking part in a personal challenge and giving something back to the local community.”

Support Sally via her JustGiving page, justgiving.com/sally-douglas, or contact Julie Frost at HospiceCare on 01665 606515.
