A community nurse has been given the royal seal of approval for the high quality care she provides to patients.

Jenny Rasmussen, respiratory nurse specialist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, has been awarded the Queen’s Nurse title after being nominated by a patient in Morpeth.

She was the only nurse from the region to win the award.

As part of the Trust’s long-term oxygen team based in Alnwick, Jenny provides advice and support to patients requiring oxygen in their own homes. Since the award, she has become a community matron.
