LANDSLIP WORK IS PROGRESSING

There has been little physical movement of the landslip on the B6344 at Crag End since 2013, the parish council heard. Coun Bridgett said most of the ground work investigations have been completed and there are two options for repairs.

REMOVAL OF NEST GIVEN THE GO-AHEAD

After the removal of rooks’ nests in Rothbury last year another has reappeared.

Chairman Coun Mark Gilson was given permission to have the nest removed. He also raised concerns about bird boxes being fixed to trees with nails.

KIND WORDS FOR ALAN

Councillors gave their thanks to Alan Fendley who stood down from his position as parish council chairman after being diagnosed with cancer. Coun Jeff Reynalds said: “A massive amount of energy and integrity has been shown by Alan Fendley over the years in what he has done for the people of Rothbury. I wish him every success.”
