A Rothbury man has been disqualified from driving after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
On January 3 Brian Mitchell, 62, from Addeycombe Gardens in Rothbury was charged with drink driving after being involved in a collision near to Wallington Hall in Northumberland.
The collision involved two vehicles, noone was injured in the collision.
He appeared at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ court on Tuesday, January 21, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.
He was disqualified for driving for 12 months.
Morpeth Neighbourhood Inspector Karen Murray said “Even a small amount of alcohol can have a serious effect on your driving ability and this case could have had tragic consequences with the driver putting his own and other people’s lives at risk.
“This case should act as a warning to anyone that chooses to drive while over the limit that if they are caught they could face a minimum of a year’s driving ban, a fine and huge increases in insurance premiums.”
