Road re-opened after crash

A road has now re-opened after a motorbike crash this morning.

Police were called to the incident on the B6345, near Hadston, at around 11.10am after a rider came off his motorbike.

The man, 25, sustained life-threatening head injuries.

North East Ambulance Service sent road paramedics who began treatment.

Due to the severity of the injuries the air ambulance team administered a general anaesthetic at the roadside to stabilise the patient before taking him to the RVI in Newcastle.

He arrived in critical condition.

The road was closed to allow the air ambulance to land and for recovery.
