Reward offered after burglary

A REWARD is being offered after a high-value burglary at a north Northumberland fishery.

Police are now making a fresh appeal for information into the break-in earlier this month at Chatton Trout Fishery.

Between 4pm on December 15 and 3am on December 16 thieves broke into a lodge building on the site and stole more than 25 specialist fishing rods, a large quantity of polo shirts, fleeces, jackets, fishing equipment bags, boxes of fishing flys and fishing lines.

The polo shirt and fleeces bear the round logo of Chatton Trout Fishery and the jacket is a specialist Gore-Tex fishing jacket by Greys GRXi.

The fishing rods are by Greys, G-Loomis and Sharpes of Aberdeen.

A reward of £500 is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Officers believe over £20,000 worth of equipment was taken during the burglary and are appealing for anyone who might have seen any suspicious vehicles or people in the area around the time of the theft, or have been offered the equipment, to contact them on 101 ext 69191.
