Children from Whittingham CofE First School donned war-time dress today to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
The youngsters came in a variety of costumes and had some themed props, including helmets and a gas-mask.
Some of the pupils had produced a Second World War display, which included artwork, in their classroom.
The Normandy landings were the first stage of the invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe.
By the end of D-Day on June 6, 1944, the Allies had established a foothold in France - an event that would eventually help bring the war to an end.
