A world-famous fishing firm will be opening the doors at its north Northumberland headquarters to give people the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes.
Hardy & Greys is holding an Experience Day on Saturday, September 7, at its Alnwick base on Willowburn Trading Estate.
It comes on the back of previous successful experience events.
One of the highlights of the day will be a guided tour of the world-renowned Hardy factory, which includes a look at both the current and traditional practices of the workshop.
The behind-the-scenes tours start at 10am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm.
Places are limited so booking in advance is strongly advised.
Visitors will also have the chance to meet the team behind the firm’s brands and discover more about its 140-year history in the Hardy Museum.
The Reel Clinic will be available.
Anglers can bring their Hardy & Greys reel in for a free mini service, carried out by the Hardy reel designer. Vintage and modern reels welcome.
Casting, fishing and fly-dressing demonstrations from some of the country’s top anglers and the company’s very own academy members will take place throughout the day.
There will be the chance to try out the firm’s products and test cast the newest ranges of fly rods from Hardy & Greys.
Visitors will also be treated to an exclusive preview of the Hardy & Greys products for 2014.
Free advice and tuition from the expert team on fishing tackle will be available.
Special guests, including representatives from some important local and national organisations, will be present on the day.
Exhibitors are yet to be confirmed for the day, but are likely to include local Rivers Trusts, fisheries and fishing clubs, as well as members of the Hardy & Greys ProTeam.
There will also be a competition running on the day for the chance to take home some tackle.
The experience event runs from 9am to 5pm and entry is free.
