Police step up patrols in trouble hotspots

Police will be conducting high visibility patrols in Alnwick and Amble over the next six weeks.

Operation Alliance has been set up to combat anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.

Officers will target locations affected by criminal damage and undertake high visibility patrols. In addition, those suspected of being involved in anti-social behaviour and vandalism will also be targeted.

Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Truscott said: “Vandalism associated with anti-social behaviour is of concern to the local community. This operation is designed to combat the problem by tackling known offenders and to direct additional patrols to hotspot areas.

“Local officers will also be undertaking a number of drop-in sessions during the coming weeks where people can come to talk to neighbourhood officers about issues affecting them.”
