Police are appealing for information to help trace a woman missing from Northumberland.
Joan Head went missing from her Romsey Close home, in Cramlington, today.
The 62-year-old left her address, some time between 2.15pm and 2.45pm, in her silver Polo car, with the registration NX05 XDS, and has failed to return.
Her family and police are growing concerned for her whereabouts due to her state of mind.
She is described as of slim build, with brown shoulder-length hair and was wearing a brown parka coat.
Searches are continuing to locate Mrs Head and police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen her or the vehicle she’s driving.
Chief Inspector Peter Bent, from Northumbria Police, said: “We’re appealing for the public’s help to trace Mrs Head. We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have spotted her vehicle in the area as we know she left her home address in it.
“We also know she normally only travels short distances as she doesn’t like driving so it’s possible she’s still in the Northumberland or neighbouring North Tyneside area. That said, we would urge people across Northumbria to keep an eye out for Mrs Head or her vehicle as we want to ensure her safe return home.”
Anyone who knows Mrs Head or believes they may have seen her or her vehicle should contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 680 15/02/14.
