Still no decision on turbines bid

Members agreed to go for a site visit before making a decision on a proposal for two 34.5-metre wind turbines on land north of Felkington Farm, Norham. There are concerns over the cumulative impact of the pair with a nearby 80-metre turbine at Shoreswood Farm, which has just been approved on appeal.

Taking a closer look at quarry

A decision on a periodic review for the operation of Blaxter Quarry, near Elsdon, was also deferred for a site visit, as members were told that further investigation was needed due to new evidence. Last year, the quarry was at the centre of complaints by residents over its effect on their water supply.

New footpath added to map

Councillors agreed to add to the definitive map and statement a new public footpath in Warkworth, which runs from the Hermitage boat landing north-west along the river and then south-west to the south of Coquet Lodge. The bid was supported by evidence from 102 users of the route, but the landowners dispute it on a number of grounds.
