People are getting the chance to be recognised for their community work.
Alnwick Town Council has launched its annual Mayor’s Civic Awards, which aim to give formal recognition to individuals who have demonstrated significant involvement, contribution and dedication to the town.
This could be in charity work, citizenship, caring or community participation.
The awards are in two categories – adults and young people aged 18 or under.
Bill Grisdale, Mayor of Alnwick, said: “I know there are lots of people in our town who really make a difference to our community by just quietly getting on with what needs doing.
“Many local residents, individuals andgroups owe a lot to these people and I feel it is really important that we recognise their contribution.”
