New homes for region’s barn owls

Staff and volunteers from Northumberland Wildlife Trust braved the elements last week to install new barn owl boxes on the trust’s Hauxley Nature Reserve.

It is hoped that these will provide additional roosting spots for local barn owls in ahope that they continue to breed on the site.

Last month, the fire-damaged visitor centre at the site was demolished.
