A new nursing agency has launched a recruitment drive as it seeks to add to its ever-growing ranks.

Northumberland and Borders Care Agency is looking to attract ‘exceptional’ nurses and carers to its team.

Run by Tracy Surtees and Gemma Hattle, it is ‘the first nursing agency in Northumberland’.

With an office in both Alnwick and Ashington, it aims to provide care homes with nurses and carers.

Tracy said: “We started trading from July but we have been going since January.

“It has been a slow process so far but I think it is definitely getting there.

“We have got 15 staff at the moment but we are looking to add to that by doing the recruitment drive.

“It is the first nursing agency in Northumberland and we provide nurses and carers into the local care homes – both nursing homes and residential homes in the area.

“We strive to offer the best care possible for clients within the Northumberland and Borders regions.

“We have a vast knowledge of nursing and care from years of working within the care home industry and we aim to achieve, monitor and maintain a high standard of care both physically and psychologically.”

Training and development is also an area of high importance for the agency, which is working with training consultants to ensure regular up-to-date training sessions.

Anyone who is interested in applying for a role as a nurse or carer at the agency needs to be 18 years and over.

Nurses must be on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) while carers need to have at least a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Anyone interested in applying should email a CV to Tracy@nb-ca.co.uk.
