Money saved on vehicles

A report to next Tuesday’s meeting of Northumberland County Council’s economic prosperity and strategic services overview and scrutiny committee reveals the money saved on the council’s fleet of vehicles in 2012/13.

New cross-departmental arrangements have meant that 17 vehicles that would otherwise have been replaced will not be, saving more than £1million.

And so far, a four-year replacement programme has saved a further £562,000 on vehicles such as ride-on mowers and refuse lorries.
