A Northumberland woman who went missing yesterday has been found after her car was spotted by a member of the public.
Joan Head, 62, went missing from her Romsey Close home, in Cramlington some time between 2.15pm and 2.45pm yesterday, in her silver VW Polo car.
But at 1.45pm today, police received a call from a member of the public who spotted Mrs Head’s vehicle parked off-road next to a wooded area near Stannington.
Officers attended the scene where the vehicle was located. During a subsequent search of the woods, Mrs Head was found conscious.
She has been taken to Wansbeck General Hospital by ambulance where her condition will be assessed.
The public and media are thanked for their help during the search for Mrs Head.
