Police have arrested a man after a car was damaged in Northumberland.

The incident happened at 6am, on Friday, July 11, in Low Trewhitt, in Thropton.

The victim was driving in the area when their vehicle was stopped by a man. A stone was then thrown at the windscreen causing it to smash.

They drove away from the area unharmed.

Following inquiries, police have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage who has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101, extension 69191, quoting log number 193 11/07/14, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
