A litter-pick is taking place on Sunday to help tackle rubbish problems at Cullernose Point, at Howick.
The clean-up has been proposed by Amble Sea Angling Club, in response to debris being dropped by recreational sea anglers and other people.
It will be held in conjunction with Northumberland Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority, supported by Berwickshire and North Northumberland Coast European Marine Site, Northumberland Coast AONB Partnership and Howick Estates.
The litter-pick is open to anyone and will take place between noon and 3pm. Appropriate equipment, bags gloves and pickers will be supplied by the county council.
Les Weller, secretary of the angling club, said: “Cullernose Point lies within an internationally-important marine conservation site, which is protected because of its stunning marine habitats, plants and animals. It’s great that this litter-pick is taking place.”
