Keep up the good work, the efforts go on

The fund-raising total from our campaign continues to creep up as we aim to raise £10,000 for the Alnwick Playhouse Youth Theatre.

A craft event at the home of Alnwick resident Cheryl Jackson brought in £101.29 in the last week.

On top of that, the jam jars keep on rolling in, contributing another £128.86 to the total.

That means that the grand total now sits at £6,434.37, approaching a third of the way to our total.

But while the money continues to drip in, we still need as much support as possible to ensure that we bring in as much cash as possible for the talented youngsters of the Youth Theatre.

It offers great opportunities to around 135 budding actors, dancers and singers across the three different groups – junior, middle and senior.

While based in Alnwick, so far this year, the performances by the Youth Theatre have involved children and teenagers from Bamburgh, Seahouses, Rothbury, Eglingham, Edlingham, Morpeth, Wooler, Chathill, Embleton, Christon Bank, Longhorsley, Lesbury, Widdrington and all points in between.

We still want other businesses, organisations, families and individuals to hold collections.

Get in touch with us – on 01665 602234 or ben.oconnell@northeast-press.co.uk – if you want to get involved or have any ideas for fund-raising.

We have jam jars and stickers for decorating jars to collect at the Northumberland Gazette office.

Full jars can be dropped off at the Playhouse or the Gazette office on Bondgate Without, or the Lions bookshop on Bondgate Within.
