A special event to bring a community together and encourage people to go out in the town takes place this weekend.
Called Alnwick Day, the event takes place in the town on Sunday, to coincide with the final day of the English Premier League football season.
A string of the town’s pubs and other businesses have agreed to take part by offering deals and discounts to anyone wearing red on the day.
A spokesman for the event said: “We want to have a really good day with the pubs full of Alnwick folk.
“There is nothing in the town for Alnwick people any more. We used to have the Alnwick Fair, but that was scrapped.
“This is about the town coming together as one and we want people to wear the same colour – red – because it creates a visual atmosphere and it shows that people are identifying with the day.”
Businesses taking part in the event include Pizza Royale, Penny Black, Alnwick Arms, Tanners Arms, Market Tavern, The Plough, Hog’s Head Inn, Black Swan, Alnwick Gate, Oddfellows Arms and AA Taxis.
Sportsworld is printing official logo T-shirts at £6 each with £1 from every sale going to The Stephen Carey Fund.
A number of venues will be putting collection buckets out for the same fund.
