Join in with Holy play

Chris Friend, Peter Brown, Julie Hammond, Philip Angier, Rev Edward Butlin and Chris Jones are preparing for the Passion Play.

The search is on for thespians and choir members to become part of an Easter Passion Play in Alnwick.

The free show is due to be held in the town’s Market Place on Good Friday, March 29, 2013.

Auditions for acting roles will be taking place on November 10 and 11 at Alnwick Town Hall from 1pm to 4pm.

The music will be led by Peter Brown and the Alnwick Community Choir. Chris Friend, chairman of the Passion for Northumberland project, said: “Our aim is to bring the amazing story of Easter to life for a 21st-century audience.

As far as we know there has never been an open-air Passion Play performed in Alnwick before.”

The project has already received a number of cash pledges.
