Louise Dawson, Sandra Phillips, Andrew Park and Joan Douglas ran last year’s Run Northumberland Castles Marathon in aid of Seahouses and District Cancer Research and Relief Fund.
The charity is raising funds to help open a day unit at Alnwick Infirmary. This would mean that cancer patients can receive treatment in Alnwick rather than having to travel to Newcastle. The motivation that spurred the group on to complete their challenge, was Julie H Thompson, who fought a long and brave battle against the disease before passing away in September last year.
Joan Turnbull, from the fund, is seen accepting the cheque for £1,035 from Louise, Sandra, Andrew and Joan.
