Is it just me, or did it suddenly get dark?

North Northumberland is experiencing a severe lightning storm at the moment, which has brought twilight conditions on what would normally be a summer’s day.

Flashes have been seen strobing across the skies every 10 to 20 seconds, while torrential rain has left streets and roads swimming in water.

If you have any experiences of the extreme weather, contact the Gazette on 01665 602234, send us a tweet @alnwickgazette or visit our Facebook Page.
