High winds open bank on Sunday

Residents of Alnwick may have thought Christmas had come early on Sunday morning when the town’s Lloyds TSB branch had its doors open with no one inside.

But high winds were to blame for blowing the external door open and police were on the scene after being alerted around 9am. A Lloyds TSB spokesman said it was all resolved quickly.
