High winds cause disruption

An Amber weather warning has been issued for the North East as high winds and rain continue to batter the region.

The Met Office has warned that gust of up to 70mph could be seen across the area with driving rain added to the mix.

It is making driving conditions difficult and there have been reports of the B6348 road blocked at Chatton because of flooding.

The Alnwick Garden has also announced via Twitter that it is to close at 3pm today because of the weather.

Roads in Morpeth have also been blocked by fallen trees.
