Help light up Alnwick Garden for Christmas

A top Northumberland tourist attraction is searching for 1,000 recruits to take part in a festive-themed initiative.

In April, the Duchess of Northumberland visited The National Glass Centre, in Sunderland, to blow her own glass bauble.

The decoration will be the first in a major glass artwork in the shape of a Christmas tree, which will be installed at The Alnwick Garden in October.

Now, The Garden is calling on recruits (aged 12+) to each blow one of the 1,000 baubles required to create the tree, which will go on show until January 2015.

Costing £15 per person, each participant will visit the Glass Centre and create a decoration. The sessions run from Monday to August 31.

Every contributor will receive two free tickets to The Garden to see the result of their work when the tree is installed. To book, call 0191 515 5555 (option 9).
