Hardy souls take the plunge

Alnwick Swim Group at Howdimont Sands Alnwick swim group swims every Saturday at either Howdimont sands, Longhoughton or Low Newton depending on the tide.This was taken yesterday morning just before they dived into the water at Longhoughton. Don't they look happy?! Half way through they took off their dry suits and continued to swim as many are practicing for the Chill Swim in the Lake District next year and need to get even more hardened up! Eleanor Phillips

Members of Alnwick Swim Group jump for joy at the prospect of diving into the North Sea at Howdimont Sands, Longhoughton.
