A theatre has been given a cash injection to help carry out essential maintenance and repairs.
The Theatres Trust has given Alnwick Playhouse a grant of £5,000.
The money will be used to repair the facility’s roof and guttering, among other projects, which have borne the brunt of bad winters and adverse weather.
Chairman of trustees at the Playhouse, Roy Todd, said: “We had a survey done on the structure of the Playhouse building, as the building is very important to us.
“The survey found that there were some urgent items that needed doing as well as some which need to be done over the next two or three years. One of the urgent items was the roof, guttering and downpipes, for which we have the grant. And we are very grateful, as the building is absolutely everything to us.”
The rest of the cost of the work will be met by the Trust and NTC.
