Organisers of this month’s North Tourism Fairs in Alnwick and Hexham are predicting good turnouts at both events.
The Alnwick showcase, serving the north of the county and Borders, takes place on Wednesday, March 19, at Willowburn Sports and Leisure Centre.
This will be followed by the Hexham Tourism Fair at Wentworth Leisure Centre on Thursday, March 20.
Jude Leitch, general manager of Northumberland Tourism, said: “Last year Northumberland was well featured in the media, in films and on television.
“We hope and expect that all of this coverage will convert into excellent visitor numbers in 2014.
“The North Tourism Fairs are excellent networking events and a chance to showcase why Northumberland is so highly-rated as a domestic holiday destination.”
Hospitality providers from around the county and the Borders, as well as representatives from local attractions and tourism businesses, are due to appear at the events.
The sessions take place from 10am to 2.30pm. Members of the public can also attend.
Refreshments will be provided and admission to the events is free.
There are due to be more than 100 exhibitors at the Alnwick Fair alone.
Bruce Hewison, of the Alnwick Tourism Association, said: “The fairs herald the beginning of a new season for many of our members.
“It is essential for our local economy that we make the most of the natural assets and the variety of attractions and events that make Northumberland such a memorable tourist destination.”
The events, organised by Local Living, act as a great way of finding out about festivals, events and days out.
