Ghost chicken hunters hope for some eerie fowl play

GHOST hunters will be checking in to a haunted north Northumberland hotel next month to see if they can raise a few spirits.

Members of Falkirk-based Ghost Seekers UK are heading to The Schooner in Alnmouth on April 4 where they will hold an all-night vigil.

And the professional paranormal investigators are hoping to catch a glimpse or hear a whisper from the Northumberland Street hotel's estimated 60 supernatural entities.

Over the years these have included sightings of glowing orbs, a man in uniform and even a ghost chicken.

Twice named the most haunted hotel in Great Britain by The Poltergeist Society, more than 3,000 accounts of unusual occurrences have been recorded in the last few years.

Ghost Seekers UK co-founder Anne Clark said: "We have the equipment and the mediums.

"We can find out who the ghosts are, how they died and what they want or if there are any messages they want to pass on."

Members of the public are invited to attend the paranormal investigation.

Tickets are priced at 40 per person and will include refreshments.

The investigation starts at 11pm on Friday, April 4 and concludes at 4am the following morning
