Gearing up for a slice of motors history

Vintage vehicles are taking to the roads at the weekend for a 50-mile tour through Northumberland and the Borders.

More than 40 classic cars will set off from Bellingham on Saturday at 10am for a road run which ends at Kielder Castle Visitor Centre.

The centre will be the venue for the annual Kielder Vintage and Classic Vehicle Show on Sunday, from 11am to 4pm, featuring more than 140 vehicles., including a Mk I Ford Transit and a 1960s Ford Thames 400e Pickup.

Visitors can enjoy the variety of cars, tractors, motorbikes and commercial vehicles on display.

They will also get the chance to take a trip alongside Kielder Water in an ex-RAF Commer Bus from the 1930s.

A slice of Forestry Commission history will also be show, with one of its original vehicles, an Austin A35 van, which has been carefully restored.
