Gazette photographer Jane Coltman was out and about all over north Northumberland on Thursday night getting spectacular pictures of the Northern Lights.
And she has welcomed the warm response that her photos sparked online as well as those sent in by our readers.
She said: “Thank you for your kind words about my pictures. It was the first time I’d captured the Aurora, but if any of you are keen photographers, here’s what I used as my starting point – 30 seconds, f2.8, ISO 1600, manual focus – put it on infinity and pull it back a tiny bit – and of course a tripod!
“If you have any tips for photographing it, please share them with me! Hope this helps you get some good shots next time. If you do we would love to see them at the Gazette – hopefully we won’t have to wait too long!”
