Fuel thefts in north Northumberland

Police are appealing for information after three fuel thefts in Northumberland in the last week.

At 11.10pm on Tuesday, October 2, thieves stole 100 litres of diesel from a lorry parked in the Longframlington area.

Between midnight and 1am on Thursday, October 4, around 300 litres of diesel was stolen from a compound in the Rashercap area of Felton.

And between 8.20pm on Sunday, October 7, and 7.15am on Monday, October 8, diesel was syphoned from a lorry parked near to Amble Industrial Estate.

Alnwick Neighbourhood Inspector Paul Truscott said: “I’d ask that anyone with any information into these thefts contacts us as soon as possible and I’d also urge residents to be on the look out for fuel thieves.

“If anyone sees any suspicious vehicles or people then they should report it to police while it’s happening so we can respond and check it out.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
