Food glorious (and local) food!

CROWDS flocked to Rothbury on Monday for the first Rothbury Food and Craft Fair.

With more than 35 stalls selling different locally produced foods and crafts and cookery demonstrations from Richard Sim, the day was helped along by glorious weather.

The first fair was a huge success with a much higher turnout than the committee expected.

Chairman Heather Foggon said: "It was excellent, we had more people than we thought would come, at times Rothbury was gridlocked."

And the fair is set to come back next year with entertainment and music.

Mrs Foggon added: "We will be bigger and better next year, what we lacked was music.

"We will have more stalls next year, still on the local food and craft industry, nobody will have a stall with stuff brought in.

"It was a lot of hard work but it was worth it, we've had lots of positive feedback from the local shops and I just want to say thanks to everyone that helped."
