Praise was given to Felton WI for its work on creating an information box in the former red telephone box in the village.

The parish council gave some leaflets to WI member Coun Marion Clarke to display in the kiosk.

• Paths leading to St Michael and All Angels’ Church in thevillage are in urgent need of repair, the parish council heard. Mrs Hamlin said she had sent photographs of the damaged paths to Northumberland County Council, in a bid to get the work sorted. Coun Eileen Blagburn said two residents had complained to her about the state of the paths and said it would stop them going to the church.

• Councillors heard that Japanese knotweed has made a comeback in the village. However, Mrs Hamlin said that it is to be treated again by the county council, which has been done in the past, to try to eradicate the problem.
