A new animal healthcare products company for local farmers is planning to put the personal touch at the top of the agenda, after launching recently.

Northumberland Animal Health Limited has opened for business from its base on the Rothbury Industrial Estate.

The venture is the brainchild of co-owner Brian Dugdale, who made the move to start the company with business partner and ex-colleague Ian Brown after spotting a gap in the market for his services.

The company will supply farmers across the county with a range of quality products underpinned by extensive advice, technical expertise and customer focus.

After spending 30 years in the agricultural industry, Mr Dugdale, who lives near Rothbury, felt that farmers were missing out on the individual attention and technical input they wanted and valued in the current economic climate.

Now he will be bringing his own individual touch to the agricultural community with the new venture, delivering a range of arable inputs and animal-feed supplements, livestock medicines and other associated animal husbandry products to farms initially across Northumberland and the Borders.

The delivery of this service will be underpinned by his experience and extensive professional network which will provide farmers with important technical advice.

He has also developed a retail offering, located at the company’s base in Rothbury, aimed at delivering a similar level of value and advice through the supply of feed and healthcare products to local pet and equine owners and smallholders.

Mr Dugdale wants the company to be a Northumberland business for Northumberland people, providing local farmers with a level of personal attention that he believes isn’t provided by larger suppliers.

Samantha Gladstone will operate from the Rothbury premises, providing a point of contact for customers.
