False alarm with good intention

Police were called to Shilbottle twice on Monday after two separate reports.

A woman reported concern for of her ponies in a field.

She told police a suspicious vehicle had been seen a couple of days earlier.

It was investigated but no harm had been caused.

And a bus passenger travelling between Shilbottle and Alnwick reported seeing a man face down in the grass verge.

Police searched the area and used the force helicopter but nothing untoward was found.
