REPLACEMENT BUS SHELTER IS AGREED

A vandalised bus shelter on Bondicar Road will be replaced with a galvanised mesh panel structure. Meanwhile, judging for the annual garden competition will be on July 18. Entry forms will be available from Hadston House soon.

HADSTON HOUSE UPDATE

Coun Scott Dickinson said things were ticking along as nicely as they could be at Hadston House. He said the take-up for the meals on wheels service has increased, a new admin officer has been appointed and the venue is holding the Tomorrow’s People course. But the adult learning service has been suspended, as funding has been pulled.

KEEP VEHICLES LOCKED, SAYS PC

PC Paul Dent urged residents to lock their vehicles after a spate of thefts from insecure vehicles. He also asked people to be aware of vandals etching letters into vehicles after a series of incidents in Widdrington and Morpeth.

PENELOPE TAKES COUNCIL HOT SEAT

Coun Penelope Fidkin is the new chairman, replacing Coun Dickinson. Coun Paul Claridge remains vice-chairman. He raised concerns about dog mess/horse manure on the footpath from North Broomhill to HMP Northumberland.
