East Chevington Parish Council

Have your say on seat replacement

The parish council is looking to replace some of the seats in the parish – and wants residents to voice their suggestions. The seats will be replaced on residents’ priority. People should contact a councillor in person or Hadston House (01670 761537 ) by March 1 to say which seats are in a poor state and need replacing.

Public urged to report bin thefts

PC Paul Dent said it had been a quiet month crimewise but reported that a wheelie bin had been stolen from Red Row and urged residents to contact police if they experience a similar incident. He said: “I find that a wheelie bin will be used to transport something, so if people have their bin stolen, let us know.”

Congratulations for exam success

Members agreed to send a letter of congratulations to Amble’s James Calvert Spence College, following its impressive showing in the 2012 GCSE and A-Level results, published recently. Coun Paul Claridge made the suggestion, saying: “A number of kids from our area go there. It shows the management is having an impact,”

Appeal made for vital road repairs

Repair work is needed on Bondicar Road, in Hadston, which is littered with potholes. Parish council chairman Scott Dickinson said: “I appreciate that there has to be priority on major roads but repairs are needed here. It is the only road in and out of Hadston and I would like it to be usable without damaging cars.”
