The final element of Alnwick Town Council’s commemoration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee took place on Friday, August 24, when three walnut trees were planted – one in the community orchard, one in Swansfield Park and one in the Column Field.

Pictured here is Mayor of Alnwick, Coun Alan Symonds, planting the tree in the Column Field, where he was assisted in the formal planting by Coun Susan Allcroft and Deputy Mayor, Coun Bill Grisedale.
