Dangerous driving denied by Amble man

A 20-year-old Amble man denied a string of motoring offences when he appeared before magistrates in Bedlington last week.

Chris McQuillen, from Church Street, pleaded not guilty to a charge of dangerous driving, relating to two incidents an hour apart last year.

He is charged with the alleged offences at Warkworth beach car park and then in Amble’s Bede Street on Sunday, September 29.

The first incident relates to McQuillen allegedly crashing into a parked car before driving away. An hour later, it is alleged that he hit the back of a car at a junction, before driving off and running over the foot of the other driver.

In relation to this incident, McQuillen also faces charges of failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident and drink-driving. He denies all the charges and will face trial on Monday, April 28. He is on unconditional bail.
