Crash closes A1068 in Amble

A crash between two vehicles has closed the A1068 south of Amble in both directions.

A police spokeswoman said: “At 2.12pm, police received a report from the ambulance service of a crash between a Honda Civic and a Mercedes van at Radcliffe in Amble.

“Police and the fire service are in attendance.

“The A1068 is closed in both directions and local diversions are in place.”

Comments on social networking sites are reporting significant traffic problems in the town.
