Next Sunday has been designated a town clean-up day in a partnership event organised by Alnwick Town Council and Northumberland County Council.
A community event is being organised between 10am and 3pm to help get the town ship-shape for the Easter holiday period.
Various cleaning activities will take place during the day, including litter-picking, street-sweeping, weeding and graffiti removal.
A number of local groups have already agreed to take part including the county council’s young firefighters, Alnwick In Bloom, Alnwick Area Friends of the Earth and Alnwick Chamber of Trade.
Any other groups wishing to take part should contact Bill Batey, town-council clerk, on 07971 810267 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Any individuals able to give a few hours should meet in the Market Place at either 10am or 1pm on the day.
