A north Northumberland church is hosting a special event next week to tie in with the county’s Heritage Open Days.
St Mary’s Parish Church, in Belford, is holding a heritage weekend from Friday, September 13, to Sunday, September 15.
The weekend starts on Friday evening with a quiz night in the church gallery at 7pm. Tickets are £5. It promises to be a lot of fun with plenty of questions about Northumberland.
On Saturday, between 10.30am and 4pm, there are heritage displays and demonstrations in the church, featuring stained glass, calligraphy, basket making, quilting, spinning and weaving, Northumbrian pipes, flower arranging and more. Refreshments and lunch will be available.
On Sunday at 2pm, there will be a heritage concert with a programme of local music and afternoon tea. For the weekend events, entry by donation.
