Katherine Renton, this year’s poster artist for the Alnmouth Arts Festival, is pictured with the St Paul’s Middle School pupils that recently won prizes in the Alnwick in Bloom painting competition. Katherine has been the art teacher at the school for the past 10 years.

“Our art department has gone from strength to strength and the success of so many of our pupils in this competition reflects the
talent and hard work of
all our students,” she said.

The Year 6 winners were inspired by the First World War poem, In Flanders Fields, and painted poppies to commemorate all
those that gave up their lives in the Great War.
