Three children were rescued earlier this afternoon after almost being cut off by the tide at Embleton.
Craster lifeboat crew was launched at 12.38pm and was assisted by Howick Coastguard to take the youngsters to safety.
A spokesman for Humber Coastguard said it was called by a couple of members of the public who feared that the children would be stranded.
The Coastguard spoke to the children’s father and the two teams were launched
It is the second call-out of the year for Craster with the first just a fortnight ago, compared to just two call-outs in the whole of 2013.
