A long-standing GP is set to retire from a north Northumberland surgery this week.
There is to be a change of doctors at the Glendale Surgery in Wooler with Dr Charles Dean retiring on Friday, March 28, and Dr Saul Miller, who is leaving Belford, replacing him as a partner to work with Dr Monica Jamieson.
Dr Dean, who has been at the surgery since 1996, said: “I am saddened to be leaving the patients and my colleagues, but welcome the fresh challenges of retirement.
“I have been proud to work here for 18 years, have enjoyed working with Dr Jamieson and I’m delighted a doctor of the calibre of Dr Miller is succeeding me. I believe the new team will continue to deliver high-class health care and I’m happy that I will be leaving the practice in good hands.”
His partner in the practice for four years, Dr Jamieson, said she would be sorry to say farewell and wished him well in his retirement, adding: “We all look forward to welcoming Dr Miller into the team, and feel that it is very much a positive next stage for Glendale Surgery and our patients.”
Dr Miller said: “While I have enjoyed my time at Belford, I am looking forward to joining Dr Jamieson and the team at Glendale Surgery and getting to know the patients.”
