Group Captain Paul Atkinson welcomed families and guests of recipients as he presented 7 Commendations and 11 Medals to RAF Boulmer personnel at a ceremony in the Officers Mess.

The Station Commander at RAF Boulmer has awarded honours to personnel at the base and spoken of his pride at their work.

Group Captain Paul Atkinson handed honours to servicemen and women deployed to Libya, Afghanistan, the Middle East and the Falklands, as well as civilian personnel.

He said: “It is a huge pleasure to be able to present these awards. They have demonstrated the breadth of the work that we do on operations, both in the UK and overseas.

“Our personnel have supported operations in Libya and have deployed to Afghanistan, the Middle East and the Falklands working with the Royal Navy, the British Army and with many other nations.

“In the UK, they have also worked hard to improve our training and to help others in the wider community. Across the spectrum of age and experience, all of those here today have gone well beyond their job description, showing leadership, initiative, dedication, enthusiasm and commitment.”
