Causeway rescue

A LIFEBOAT was called out again after another car ignored the safe crossing times and became stranded on the Holy Island causeway.

At around 10.30am last Thursday, the Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat went to help two people caught by the tide in a new BMW M series car.

Upon arrival by land, the lifeboat was uncoupled and the Land Rover towing it was able to drive to and recover the two casualties from the refuge box. Earlier this year, it was warned that there could be a fatality if the incidents continued.
